Seminar: Idylle Dramatique
Jonatan Sersam, Tom Pauwels, Eva Reiter
As a collaboration between Ars Nova and ICTUS, this seminar explores how to design concert concepts that merge historical and contemporary music from a curator’s perspective. With their vast experiences in cross‑temporal musical ideas, Eva Reiter and Tom Pauwel (ICTUS), as well as Malmö Academy of Musics graduate Jonatan Sersam (Ars Nova), now want to share their artistic approaches with producers, curators, and others interested in this way of thinking.
Following the seminar, ICTUS will perform ”Idylle Dramatique” at S:t Johannes Church in Malmö, April 19th at 17:00.
The seminar serves partly as an introduction to the concert, but primarily as an open dialogue on how to create meaningful links across centuries – for example between Marin Marais (1656–1728) and contemporary composers like Burkhard Stangl – and how to dissolve boundaries of history and time to form coherent, coexisting musical worlds.
The project is supported by the Helge Ax:son Johnsson and Sten K. Johnson Foundations.
