A Green Day at Malmö Academy of Music 13/4

Welcome to a green day at the Malmö Academy of Music!  

Here we focus on the potential of music in environmental and sustainability issues. During an interactive “green happening” in Liljeforssalen, the Academy's environmental committee invites you to drop in between 12:00 and 12:45. Come by, mingle, and enjoy live music, sustainability research, green music and literature tips from the library, and much more! Visitors are welcome to mingle between different green stations and events.

Artistic performance and lecture: Sustainability at a Crossroads 18/4

Sustainability at a Crossroads is an event where two formats are merged into one: a theatre performance and a university lecture in one.   

The doctoral students, Juan Antonio Samper (Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies) and Iury Salustiano Trojaborg (Malmö Theatre Academy), invite you to participate in a space of creation and reflection about people-place relations and sustainability, inspired by the afro-Brazilian offerings to the religious figure Exu.

The offering, in this case, are bean seeds that are planted and watered in a cross-shaped soil where Iury and Juan, along with the audience members, write a poem and sing ancestral songs to pay homage the different deities who represent the various elements of Nature in certain Afro-Brazilian cosmogonies.

Participants are not required to prepare anything in advance. All that is required is curiosity and love for mother earth.

The event is part of Sustainability Week 2026, which runs between 13-18 April. Sustainability Week is an annual event in Lund organised as a joint venture by Lund University and Lund municipality. The week serves as a platform for bringing together ideas, raising public awareness and for inspiring sustainable change.
