Collaboration
The Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts collaborates closely with surrounding cultural institutions, the cultural society and schools to provide and stimulate artistic activities and work opportunities for our students.
Many of the faculty's teachers also work outside the university and have extensive experience of collaborations, which benefits competence development among our employees.
Inter Arts Center
Inter Arts Center (IAC), as a part of the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts at Lund University, is a platform for artistic research and experimentation. IAC’s mission includes to support and initiate interdisciplinary cooperation between artists, researchers and external partners as well as between the faculty and Lund University.
Examples of interdisciplinary cooperation within the university are its participation in the Narrating Climate Futures initiative and the Crocus education and research initiative on the Helsingborg campus. Beyond this, there are ongoing collaborations with the Humanities Lab and the Sound Environment Centre at the Faculties of Humanities and Theology (HT) as well as with the research facility European Spallation Source (ESS).
IAC is not only a meeting point and workplace with advanced technical equipment and space for the faculty and university's students, teachers and researchers but is also used for external collaborative projects. Every year up to 150 external artists and researchers take part in projects within the realms of visual arts, dance, music and theater at the IAC.
Collaboration within Lund University
Lund University has great expertise and extensive activities in the artistic, cultural and culture-oriented fields. There is potential to further develop opportunities for collaboration and to clarify the importance of cultural activities. Therefore, the university management developed a strategy for cultural collaboration in 2018 where the goal is that artistic competences, artistic and cultural knowledge should work together with other scientific knowledge formation and build the university's success in education and research to a much greater extent than today.
